Our common goal is to impact the lives of future aspiring barbers. Barbering can be seen as therapeutic in many ways, with healing powers that may even help to offer hope to the hopeless. Our school offers opportunity to self-starting individuals while simultaneously assisting with career building through the skill of PROFESIONAL BARBERING.

About the Owners

Legacy Academy is co-owned by Andre Powell (Dekalb Native) and Jonathan Thompson (Sycamore Native). Between the two, they have over ten years of shared barber experience, while each also owns their own barbershop within the local community. With both Andre and Jonathan being Illinois Licensed Barber Instructors, the two merged together in 2020 to launch Legacy Academy.
